Moving to Dubai soon? Propelled by the oil industry, Dubai has since become a booming financial and transportation hub and tourist destination. Routinely voted as the best place to live in the Middle East, it is easy to see why. Many Dubai companies are hiring foreigners, especially from the United States, and many of these expats will have family in tow. Here are some of the best neighborhoods for families:
Conveniently accessed to the major freeway in Dubai, Emirates Living encapsulates several neighborhoods that are gated and secure with excellent amenities. They have community shopping, good schools, and parks. The prestigious American University in Dubai is close by, as well as several lakes for your whole family to enjoy. Prices in the region for homes range from moderate to very expensive.
Away from the hustle and bustle is the Arabian Ranches. Here you will find a village community center with over 20 retail outlets including a supermarket and restaurants. Located in the area is the Jumeirah English Speaking school, the premier primary school in Dubai. The Ranches also feature a world class golf course, equestrian center, two polo fields, gardens, and pools. Homes in this area are generally moderately priced to expensive.
Mirdif and Garhoud
Located on either side of the Dubai airport, these affordable neighborhoods offer good schools and amenities. They are older style villas with shared pools. Charming residences close to downtown, but the downside being that the airport can be a bit noisy.
